2022 Festa Queen & King
Queen Jenavieve Dutra - 2022
I was young and wanted to make sure that I represented our community with honor
Ever since I stepped into a Festa dress when I was a little girl, I knew one day I wanted to be Queen. I was overwhelmed with emotions when our family was announced as the 2020 Festa Family. I was young and wanted to make sure that I represented our community with honor. Then with a snap of a finger it was all taken away by a horrible pandemic that took so much from all of us.
The pandemic forced us into change that no one was ready for. People lost their jobs, students learned from home on zoom and families learned to be apart from one another. I genuinely believe that I have learned a lot about myself and the responsibilities of what a Queen is. Instead of looking at all the negatives the Coronavirus caused I look at the positives. It gave me time to grow, mature, feel strong and proud to represent our community especially with all the support I witnessed being sent to our family during this terrible time.
I am truly honored to represent our community as your 2022 Festa Queen. I remember how proud I was when I represented the 2014 Festa as your Small Queen and I look forward to having that feeling again. I am so grateful that my parents have given me this once in a lifetime opportunity.
I know that our family, friends and the community will help guide us through the next year to make our Festa a successful one. I look forward to embracing this tradition and soaking it all in. I see a bright and great year ahead being your 112th Festa do Espírito Santo Queen.
King Noah Dutra - 2022
Wow! What a ride. This past year has been an adventure that I never thought I would experience once but now twice.
I have watched my family go through a lot over the last year or so and how strong they have been through all this madness we call Coronavirus. Their vision for us as their children is one they had dreamt about for years, the perfect day. With renewed energy and excitement, I know our family is looking forward to gathering our community together and bring our full traditions back.
I am extremely excited to be announced as your 2022 Festa King. I have been a part of the Festa since I was a toddler. Being Festa King has been a dream of mine and though in 2020 I got that chance; it was taken away. I know deep in my heart that this time I will be able to fulfill my commitment to you and represent our community as your Festa King.
I take my heritage and traditions very seriously as I hope to carry on our traditions to my family one day. I graduated in a pandemic and coming out the other side stronger then ever. I am sad that I will not be able to attend all the fundraisers and be with all of you this year. But you will be in my thoughts and prayers while I study Zoology at Colorado State University.
I know that our family, friends and community will stand strong behind us to make the next year a great one. I cannot wait to see what Festa 2022 has in store for us, and I am ready to take this crazy, fun and exhilarating ride one more time. I am so blessed that my family was chosen for Festa 2022 and I will proudly represent as your 112th Festa do Espírito Santo King.
