It is with deep gratitude, and joy that I accept the honor of being crowned the 116th Portuguese Queen of the Festa do Espírito Santo in 2026. This tradition, so rich in faith and heritage, is not just a celebration of history, but a powerful reminder of God’s enduring presence in our lives. As I take on this role, I carry with me the values my family and faith have instilled in me—the importance of kindness, humility, and service to others. The Lord has continuously guided me throughout my life, and I trust that He will walk alongside my family and me as we take part in this sacred celebration.
Being raised in the Portuguese community has been a true blessing. From the delicious smells of sweet bread and linguiça and the sounds of fado echoing at community gatherings, I have grown up with a deep love and respect for my roots. In both joyful and challenging times, it is the strength of our people and our shared faith that has kept us united.
As Queen, I am especially inspired by the example of Queen St. Isabel of Portugal, whose devotion to God and the poor continues to move us centuries later. She was best known for her compassion toward the sick, the hungry, and the suffering. The miracle of the roses, where her charitable acts were divinely protected, symbolizes the beauty of selflessness and the power of faith. In many ways, she reflects the kind of person I strive to be—generous in spirit and guided by love. Through her legacy, I am reminded that true nobility lies in service.
Festa is more than just tradition; it is a sacred act of honoring the Holy Spirit and trusting in divine grace. Wearing this crown is not about recognition, but about responsibility—a calling to be a vessel of hope, unity, and love within our community. As I look ahead to this celebration, I do so knowing the Lord is my foundation, and it is through Him that I find the strength to lead with kindness and purpose. He has shaped me into the young woman I am today, and I pray that I may reflect His light in everything I do.
My family has always been my greatest source of strength, and I know that the Lord will continue to be by our side as we take on this journey together. Their sacrifices, support, and unwavering faith have shaped my heart, and I carry their love with me into every moment of this honor. This celebration is not mine alone—it is for all those who came before me, most especially my Great Auntie Dorie, Great Grandmother Elsie Cerny, and my Grandfather John Cerny; and those who will come after, guided by the same Spirit of generosity and trust in God that defines our Portuguese heritage.
Thank you, from the depths of my heart, for allowing me to serve as your Queen. May this year’s Festa be filled with joy, blessings, and a renewed sense of unity under the Holy Spirit. May we continue to honor our traditions, lift each other up, and walk forward in faith—always remembering that God is with us, now and forever.

I am deeply honored, overjoyed, and truly humbled to be named the 116th Portuguese King of the Portuguese Festa here in our Point Loma and Portuguese community. It is an incredibly cherished and time-honored tradition that celebrates our rich heritage and strong community.
This moment fills me with immense pride and gratitude, knowing I am part of a legacy that has united generations in faith, culture, and love for our Portuguese roots. I want to sincerely thank my family, friends, and the entire community for their unwavering support and belief in me. It is with great excitement and heartfelt appreciation that I embrace this role, and I look forward to representing our traditions with the respect and passion they so deeply deserve. The Portuguese community has been a constant and guiding presence throughout my entire life, shaping who I am today. From my earliest childhood memories, I was surrounded by the warmth, strength, and unity of this incredible community. Whether at Festas, or family gatherings, their support continued through every chapter of my life, from cheering me on the football field to standing by me during the highs and lows of high school.
I’ve always felt a deep sense of belonging and pride knowing that this community was behind me, offering encouragement, love, and inspiration every step of the way. It’s more than a community, it’s a family, and I’m forever grateful for the role it has played in my journey. I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to all of my family for their endless love, encouragement, and support throughout this incredible journey. Each of you has played a special role in helping me become the person I am today, and I am truly grateful. Most of all, I want to thank my mother. My biggest supporter, my rock, and my inspiration. Her unwavering belief in me, her constant presence, and her selfless dedication have meant more than words can ever express. No matter what challenges I faced, she was always there, lifting me up and pushing me forward with love and strength. This moment is as much hers as it is mine, and I am forever thankful for everything she’s done for me. My heart is filled with love and pride for the Portuguese community and the beautiful tradition of the Portuguese Festa.
This celebration is more than just an event, it is a living expression of our faith, culture, and shared identity that connects us across generations. The music, the food, the language, and above all, the deep sense of unity and devotion we share make this tradition truly special. Being part of this community has been one of the greatest blessings of my life, and I am honored to help carry it forward. I will always cherish the values, memories, and spirit of the Festa, and I am committed to honoring and preserving it for years to come.
